With well-known strong brands such as 7UP, Cheetos, Doritos, Lay’s, Pepsi, Quaker or Tropicana, PepsiCo is one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world.
In 1966 a small-scale potato chips factory started up in Nieuwkerke. In 1972, United Biscuits took over this factory; due to a shortage of capacity, a completely new company was built in Veurne. In 1974, the first chips rolled off the tires. In 1998, the company was taken over by PepsiCo International and renamed “Veurne Snack Foods”, also known as “PepsiCo Veurne”. Since the 1970s, “Veurne’s chip factory” has been a household name in the region. The majority of their employees live within a 25 km radius of the company. This makes them an important employer in their own region.
Local potato growers find their market there. Pepsico Veurne is a multi-technological plant with 9 ultramodern production lines on a factory surface of 40,150 m² or the size of 8 soccer fields. It is one of the largest employers in Veurne and surroundings with ± 550 employees. They produce more than 80 000 tons of chips per year. The main markets are Belgium, the Netherlands and France.
Winlock will install in Veurne a fire-resistant sectional door with 60-minute fire resistance (EI1 60), Out Lock and Noise Lock, as well as five fire-resistant doors with 60-minute fire resistance (EI1 60), Noise Lock and Out Lock.
Thanks, PepsiCo and De Vos Construct!
